The Banana Belt has traditionally started and finished at the F Street Bridge over the Arkansas River in downtown Salida. It's 26 miles with 3,000 feet of climbing. No laps! More than half awesome, fun singletrack, and plenty of burly technical jeep road to boot. Check out the course map, and see an elevation profile at the bottom of this page. You can download a GPX of the course, and you can load it directly to your device using Garmin Connect.
Do you like to party?
After the race, ride right into a rockin' good time in Salida's beautiful Riverside Park. The No Name Band will be playing, and the Arkansas Valley Libation Society will be providing local craft libations. Salida and Chaffee County are becoming known for the quality of craft beers, wines, and spirits produced. The party will be happening in the park until early evening, then the Salida BikeFest events and Salida's rockin' nightlife will keep the fun rolling until after dark.
Make a weekend of it
Salida BikeFest is going to be a great time for the whole family. Friday is the chainless race off S-Mountain, Saturday's Banana Belt, and Sunday is the Monarch Crest Crank. Activities for the kids, movies, recreational bike rides; it'll be a great time.
